With a mission to advance trade and economic interaction and cooperation between China and Pacific island countries for common development, the China - Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum is held alternately in China and a Pacific island country every four years or so. China and Pacific island countries are the members of the forum which is themed on economic cooperation and development. The first China - Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum was held in Nadi, Fiji on April 5-6, 2006.
To review the economic and trade achievements of the 1st China - Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum and to further promote China-Pacific Island Countries exchanges and cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, agriculture and fishery, transportation, finance and human resource development, the Investment, Trade and Tourism Ministerial Conference of the China - Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum will take place on September 7-10, 2009 in Xiamen, China.
The conference will feature a series of activities, including ministerial conference, Products exhibition of Pacific Island Countries and business networking , Introduction of investment climate and policy of Pacific Island Countries and business networking, China-Pacific Island Countries Tourism Cooperation Seminar and Products exhibition of Pacific Island Countries and business networking. The conference will provide an excellent venue for Chinese and Pacific inland countries’ government officials, entrepreneurs and representatives of regional organizations to discuss and lay out a roadmap for future cooperation and development.
The conference is to be attended by national leaders, high level officials, trade and investment promotion agencies and businesses as well as representatives of regional organizations from China and Pacific Island countries. They are also invited to participate in major activities of the concurrent 12th China International Fair for Investment and Trade.
